CCMA Ireland founder
In 1999 the Call Centre industry in Ireland was well into high gear already and more were coming, the problems were already showing we didn’t have the expertise here. I wanted to see a sustainable industry in Ireland and all I saw happening was a lot of low end jobs coming, so I got together a few people and set up the Call Centre management association of Ireland.
It wasn’t really very easy. First off it was something I could not do by myself and secondly I was on my own. Over a period of nine months I made hundreds of phone call almost as many meeting before we launched in September at the national museum of Ireland at Collins barracks. Where our article of association were signed into effect by over one hundred people working in or around the industry.
A lot of people were involved with CCMA Ireland over the years and helped to make it work. But mostly I will always be deeply grateful to the staff at Telecom Ireland who save me from a total breakdown during the set up and launch of this group.
Some special thanks to Pat Kearney, Brian Moore and Karl Llewellyn without whom CCMA Ireland would not exist and of course the current management team .
